pillows & future plans

first blog post!
i tried to write it on my computer, on a proper app with fancy formatting and ambient music. doesn’t work for me. i guess i just write better when i’m in bed, snuggled up in an uncomfortable position and with one leg sticking out of the covers to keep myself cool (or under the impression of that at the very least).

fun fact: i’ve been sleeping on just one pillow, not two like i used to before this summer. when i was over at my boyfriend's, there was ample choice between at least 4 or 5 different kinds of pillows and i, of course, chose his. he ended up sleeping on an ergonomic ikea pillow that i refuse to believe is comfortable, and i got used to laying a bit more flat than usual while perpetrating my crime.

i don't know where i was going with this pillow monologue, but i’m very grateful that my boyfriend is a patient man that will let me steal his pillow, his hoodies, and most importantly, his portion of watermelon and feta salad.

speaking of, i do miss him very much right now, but in less than 20 days we’ll see each other again!
we haven’t been dating too long (it will be a year in a month), so we’re still figuring out how to best schedule everything, but we’ve been able to see each other every 3 months so far, which is… decent enough, considered it takes a lot of travel to meet up. (there are no direct flights from where i live to his part of the uk, and connecting flights are both expensive AND exasperatingly tiring)

he’ll be visiting for his birthday, so i’ve been hard at work to figure out what to get him. impossible task, as he’s not a material person - except for when it comes to sugary goods, but that’s temporary!!
and i really want to get him something physical.

so far, i figured out a gift for our anniversary (which really matters to me, i feel like it’s that one bit of classic romanticism that i just unabashedly enjoy): it’s a notebook for his journaling with a custom cover of things that are important to us, drawn by me! for his birthday, it’s gonna be a videogame and a big bag of haribos…….. annnnndddd hopefully, a clay bowl for those candies made by me.

i’ve seen a few cute ideas, but my manual skills are embarrassing, so i need to slow down a bit there i fear.

not much else going on at the moment!
i have an apartment viewing tomorrow in the city where i’ll need to move if i get into this webdev course, and starting next week i’m attending a free python live course offered by the school/training centre i’m enrolling with.
absolutely terrified of all of this, as i don’t feel competent when it comes to learning languages that aren’t markup, but well.. i’ll do my best!!
